Human beings are conditioned to look at the world in many ways. We do so because of our beliefs, our ideas, our education and culture, and even our personal traumas. Every view we have of the real is filtered by all these conditioning factors, so that what we see is really only our interpretation of reality.
On another occasion I said that we tend to call real everything that we truly believe to exist and unreal everything that we consider to be only the fruit of our imagination, of our fantasies, but I also said that we easily forget that both the real and the unreal arise from our minds and our thoughts. In this sense, to stop thinking and imagining is to die.
Art has always shown us that there are worlds far beyond those we see with the naked eye, that the real and the unreal are not opposing and confronting sides but are intertwined in an almost indissoluble way in our lives.
Kimberly Murphy (Texas, USA), also known as “Paradeis in Wonderland”, is an artist who wanders between the frontier of the real and the unreal, between the certain and the uncertain, between the truthful and the chimerical, doing so through her imagination and the journeys and paths generated by AI.
Her images invite us to enter into a magical world like that fairy tale of “Alice in Wonderland” that she loves so much, and also invite us to look not only with our eyes but also with our imagination and our perceptions to contemplate different and fantastic worlds, extraordinary beings, marvellous stories and extraordinary fictions.
It has been said that his work combines surrealism and fantasy, creating a unique fusion between traditional art and cutting-edge technology. I will not be the one to dispute this. But I also prefer to think and believe that her images invite us to dream and let our imagination unfold in the construction of new and better worlds, those in which humanity can be fully realised without any violence and in concord with nature and all human beings.
“As an AI artist, I weave human emotions and the natural world into digital creations. My work explores the balance between humanity and nature, blending reality with the surreal to evoke wonder and introspection. With my art I aim to bridge the gap between technology and the organic, inviting viewers to explore realms where fantasy and reality coexist in harmony”.- Kimberly Murphy Paradeis in Wonderland.
